About the role
We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic Business Development Manager to spearhead our expansion into the UK and European markets, specifically targeting the financial services industry. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the financial sectors, including insurance companies and banks, and will be adept at selling professional software development and integration services on a T&M (Time and Materials) engagement model. This role requires an easy-going personality and a willingness to travel extensively to meet clients, prospects, and partners.
Responsibilities
- Strategic Development: Design and execute a comprehensive business development strategy tailored to the financial services sector in the UK and Europe.
- Lead Generation and Sales: Utilize strong negotiation skills to generate leads, build relationships with key stakeholders in financial institutions, and close deals effectively.
- Market Research: Conduct in-depth research to understand the dynamics and needs of financial institutions in the targeted regions.
- Proposal Development: Prepare compelling commercial proposals that align with client needs and company offerings.
- Client Engagement and Travel: Regular travel to attend conferences, meet with clients and partners, and nurture new and existing relationships across the UK and Europe.
- Collaboration and Communication: Work seamlessly with teams across the company and navigate various personalities, understanding psychological nuances to enhance teamwork and client interaction.
Requirements
- Proven track record in business development within the financial services industry, with at least 10 years of focused experience in the UK and European markets.
- Demonstrable experience in selling software development and integration services under a T&M engagement model.
- Exceptional negotiation and sales skills, with a history of successfully closing deals.
- Strong strategic and analytical skills to create effective business development strategies.
- Excellent command of English (C1 or C2 level).
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work with diverse teams and personalities.
- Hands-on, initiative-taking, and innovative approach to business development.
- Easy-going, adaptable personality who enjoys frequent travel.
