Our client from Sweden is seeking a skilled Functional Safety Engineer to work with innovation technologies in the automotive industry!

Responsibilities

Participate in strategic planning, partner/supplier selection, and concept design stages of product development
Collaborate with various teams, including electrical engineering, system design, and V&V (Verification and Validation), as well as customers and technical partners
Execute safety analyses at the function, system, hardware, and software levels
Plan and coordinate safety test activities
Develop and document functional and technical safety concepts
Lead functional safety engineering activities and develop technical work products
Analyze and recommend safety criteria for system design
Support the implementation of safety requirements throughout the vehicle system design
Develop verification and validation strategies, such as hazard and risk assessment, DFMEAs, and technical safety concepts
Integrate Functional Safety standards and practices into corporate processes
Ensure timely preparation, revision, and release of technical specifications and work products
Align safety-related topics with suppliers and customers
Lead system engineering in a technical team
Ensure timely and high-quality delivery according to defined methods
Integrate deliveries from other team members
Participate in specification implementation and verification loops
Implement system architecture strategies and roadmaps
Lead concept investigations and explore alternatives
Support the product manager in clarifying needs and breaking them down into features
Secure the implementation of the system and non-functional requirements

Requirements

M.Sc. or B.Sc. in Electrical, Mechanical, Applied Physics, Mechatronic Engineering, or similar field
Fluent in spoken and written English
Excellent communication skills
Knowledge of system safety activities according to ISO 26262
Experience in writing safety plans and requirement specifications
Familiarity with OEM functional safety processes, including FMEA, FTA, DRBFM, and safety validation
Practical experience with methods like HARA, FMEA, and root cause analysis

Will be plus

Experience in C development, MATLAB/Simulink/Stateflow
Experience in a functional safety lifecycle (ISO-26262)
Functional safety ISO 26262 certification
