Head of Payment

We are growing rapidly and are looking for a Head of Payments who will take ownership of our payment domain and help scale payment operations, processes, and integrations to the next level.

We are looking for a strategic and business-oriented Head of Payments who will lead and scale the company’s global payment function.

Key focuses of the role:
— reducing processing costs and improving approval rate;
— developing the Payments BizDev pipeline and expanding PSP coverage across new GEOs;
— independently making decisions regarding contracts, payment providers, and payment routing within the scope of responsibility, without constant escalation to C-level;
— scaling payment infrastructure to support active business growth and the launch of 20+ products within the next 12–18 months.

Responsibilities

— Building and executing the Payments strategy roadmap for 12–24 months
— Developing and scaling partnerships with PSPs, banks, gateways, and aggregators
— Independently leading negotiations, re-negotiations, and signing contracts with payment providers
— Developing and scaling the Payments BizDev pipeline
— Managing payment infrastructure: own platform, white-label solutions, deposits/payouts, alternative payment methods— Optimizing payment routing, cascading logic, and transaction performance
— Monitoring key payment metrics
— Coordinating treasury and settlement processes together with the Finance team
— Managing payment operations and risk-related cases in collaboration with Risk & Compliance teams
— Building and developing the Payments team
— Coordinating launches of new products and payment integrations— Cross-functional collaboration with Product, Tech, Finance, Risk, Legal, and Compliance teams
— Preparing payment reporting, KPI tracking, and business initiatives for the leadership team
— Representing the company at international fintech and payment conferences

Requirements

— 5+ years of experience in Payments
— 3+ years in a Head / Director level role with direct managerial responsibility
— Practical experience working with regulated payment environments— Experience working with complex payment infrastructure and alternative payment methods
— Strong network among PSPs, banks, gateways, and payment providers
— Experience building and scaling the Payments BizDev pipeline— Practical experience with payment orchestration and PSP integrations
— Deep understanding of payment metrics and payment economics
— Experience building and developing Payments teams
— Understanding of PSD2, AML/KYC, compliance, and regulatory frameworks
— Confident use of Excel / Google Sheets, BI tools (Power BI, Tableau), PSP back-office systems, and payment aggregation platforms
— Data-driven mindset and the ability to make decisions based on metrics and business impact
— Fluency in Ukrainian or Russian at a C1 level.

Nice to have

— Experience on the PSP / payment gateway / aggregator side— Experience building a Payments function from scratch
— Practical experience in treasury / liquidity management
— Financial or legal education
— Active network within the international payment ecosystem
