Our Mechanical Engineering team is responsible for driving innovation from the initial concept through to high-volume production for our key stakeholders' products. We serve as the vital integration hub, bridging the gap between various hardware disciplines, including Radio Frequency, Electrical Engineering, and Optics. Our lab is fully equipped with state-of-the-art tools for rapid prototyping, comprehensive testing, and advanced hardware development, offering a dynamic environment for hands-on engineering.
This role is designed for a self-guided Mechanical Engineer who enjoys driving mechanical innovation from the ground up. You will be responsible for navigating the most challenging aspects of the product development, from initial CAD modeling to design verification and field support. With an ownership mindset, you will guide mechanical components through iterative design cycles, managing everything from material selection to supplier coordination to ensure we deliver on quality, cost, and schedule.
- Drive mechanical component development from initial concept to mass production, building high-fidelity CAD models, detailed drawings, and comprehensive BOMs
- Collaborate closely with Electrical, Firmware, and Optical engineers to ensure seamless cross-functional hardware integration and design performance
- Lead mechanical validation tests, such as fit, stress, and thermal analysis, and support design verification through iterative prototyping and lab testing
- Apply expert knowledge of DFM/DFA to optimize designs for performance, cost, and manufacturability
- Lead rigorous design reviews, risk assessments, and FMEAs while managing all engineering documentation and tolerance stack-up analysis
- Coordinate directly with suppliers and internal teams to ensure quality, cost, and schedule milestones are met
- Provide essential field support and lead iterative design improvements to maintain product excellence throughout its lifecycle.
- Proven experience in mechanical design, specifically within consumer electronics, IoT devices, or products with varying IP ratings
- Proficiency in CAD and CAE tools, specifically SolidWorks or PTC Creo
- Demonstrated track record of designing plastic parts for injection molding and selecting materials based on complex design requirements
- Deep technical understanding of mechanical design principles and GD&T based on ISO or ASME standards
- Skilled in performing rigorous tolerance stack-up analysis and using lab tools for hardware validation
- Strong work ethic and an ownership mindset, with the ability to communicate technical risks effectively to stakeholders
- At least an Upper-Intermediate level in both written and spoken English (B2).
