Senior Node.js engineer

Axon is looking for an experienced Node.js Engineer with FFMPEG experience to join a dynamic team to work on a platform that simplifies and automates knowledge collaboration by helping teams capture, organize, find, share, and track video-based knowledge at the point of need.

The application consists of a server part on the Node.js API, a web client on React, an extension for Chrome, an application on Slack, and various integrations with other third-party services. 

The product development team includes more than 20 Middle and Senior level engineers from Ukraine, the USA and Israel. The Ukrainian team is focused on R&D tasks.

The high professional level of product managers with more than 10 years of management and engineering experience allows you to comfortably and efficiently build processes in the team and create a profitable high-quality product.

Technical stack:

• TypeScript, React, MUI, Redux, React Konva, WebGL, Cypress;
• Bit.dev, Sentry, FullStory;
• GCP, Firebase, MongoDB;
• Microservice architecture, Express.js, Nest.js.

What you need for this position:

• About 5 years of relevant commercial experience in Node.js development;
• Experience with such frameworks as: Express or Nest.js;
• Experience with cloud platforms: GCP / AWS / Azure;
• Knowledge of JavaScript design patterns, SOLID principles;
• Video processing experience (with FFMPEG) is a great advantage;  
• Experience in working with Agile methodology;
• Experience using the Git version control system;
• Intermediate+ level of English for communication with foreign colleagues.

• You will lead some of the key domains of our platform — design, coding, quality, time estimations and commitments, deployment to production and monitoring;
• You will be fully hands-on — develop, lead-by-example, push coding best practices and code craftsmanship standards;
• You will lead technical innovation to push the entire R&D department forward;
• You will be taking a key role in defining and shaping our development processes.
