Senior Java Developer

ELEKS Software Engineering and Development Office is looking for a Senior Java Developer in Poland or Croatia.

ABOUT PROJECTThe enterprise we work with is a cybersecurity automation and data analytics company from the UK. Their Continuous Controls Monitoring platform offers Chief Information Security Officers (CISOs) visibility into all assets, ensuring confidence in the effective operation of security controls. This platform presents a unified and trusted perspective spanning business lines, regions, and technology platforms.

REQUIREMENTS

• At least 5+ years of experience in software development
• Hands-on experience with Java, Spring Boot, and Hibernate
• Strong foundation with Java in a Data Integration / Data Platform context
• Solid foundations in API design and implementations
• A passion for building tools, frameworks and processes that improve developer experience and operations of the software delivered
• Strong foundation in Software Engineering best practices around unit & integration testing, principles such as SOLID, and working with CI/CD pipelines
• Strong communication skills and “own-it” mindset with experience working in SCRUM agile teams including operational responsibilities such as Incident Response, Service management etc.
• Upper-Intermediate English level

NICE TO HAVE

• Experience working with Apache NiFi
• Experience working with big data applications
• Experience with Scala/Spark
• Experience with ETL / ELT applications
• Experience with AWS data services such as EMR, Glue, S3, Athena
• Experience working with Snowflake

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Design, develop, and maintain reliable software in line with technical requirements
• Analyze requirements, and independently estimate and set up tasks’ acceptance criteria
• Evaluate and coordinate tasks’ deadlines with the Technical Leader or Project Manager
• Apply the best software development practices and coding standards to produce high-quality and performant solutions
• Stay up-to-date with modern technology and optionally obtain professional certifications
• Participate as a trainer or a trainee in various learning programs outside the main project
