As part of this dynamic role, you will be responsible for designing and developing middleware components for a Linux-based operating system used in connected cars. Collaborating with our DevOps team, you will help develop software that integrates communication with cloud services and implements innovative customer functions within the vehicle. Our work spans across areas such as remote software updates, telematics & connectivity, context-aware systems, and application platforms.

Requirements:

• 9+ years of proven experience in software engineering.
• Strong proficiency in Python programming.
• Hands-on experience with automation tools like Ansible or similar.
• Familiarity with CI tools, specifically Zuul CI.
• Deep knowledge of version control systems, including Git, Gerrit, and GitHub.
• Strong understanding of Docker and containerization technologies.
• Experience with artifact management tools such as Artifactory.
• Advanced Linux system knowledge.
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Proficiency in English (spoken and written).

Nice to Have:

• Experience with Agile Scrum and/or Kanban methodologies.
• Familiarity with Yocto, Bitbake, Bazel.
• Understanding of automotive software security.
• Previous experience leading a technical software team.
• Knowledge of C++ and CMake.

Job Responsibilities:

• Write and maintain Python scripts for a variety of automation tasks.
• Automate deployment and configuration processes using Ansible.
• Develop and manage Continuous Integration (CI) pipelines using Zuul CI.
• Oversee code repositories and workflows using Git, Gerrit, and GitHub.
• Integrate Docker for containerized environments, improving efficiency and scalability.
• Manage artifact repositories using Artifactory.
• Port existing systems to new automotive ECUs, ensuring ongoing maintenance and enhancements.
• Develop solutions for LXC/Docker container updates in a Linux/Yocto environment.
• Create and maintain an SDK („Software Development Kit”) for container application developers.
