You will be responsible for the full lifecycle of backend features, moving beyond simple task execution to true ownership of system resilience.

About the Product

The platform is an AI-powered B2B SaaS ecosystem used by some of the world’s largest sports media rights owners and broadcasters. It automates the generation, management, and distribution of sports video highlights in real time. The product solves a critical industry challenge: delivering high-quality highlight content within seconds of live events. The system processes large-scale streams of live data and video signals while maintaining speed, reliability, and brand consistency across global distribution channels. This is a high-scale, high-impact environment where performance, scalability, and operational reliability are essential.

Technology Stack: The backend is built on a modern typed foundation, primarily C# or Java, following SOLID principles and clean architecture patterns. The infrastructure is cloud-native (Azure), utilizing SQL databases optimized for high-performance indexing and complex transactions. Data orchestration is handled through messaging and pub-sub systems like Kafka or Azure Service Bus, with everything deployed via Docker and managed through mature CI/CD pipelines.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Own the end-to-end lifecycle of backend services, from initial technical design and schema optimization to deployment and production monitoring
  • Architect resilient distributed systems by implementing microservices that handle high-scale SaaS traffic without compromising on latency or reliability
  • Define and implement robust API contracts, ensuring strict validation, backward compatibility, and seamless integration for frontend consumers
  • Drive engineering excellence by refactoring legacy services and introducing modern design patterns that improve system maintainability
  • Establish observability standards by integrating logs, metrics, and traces into new features to ensure rapid troubleshooting of production issues
  • Lead technical migrations or integrations with analytical platforms like Snowflake to expand the product’s data capabilities

What We Expect

Must-have

  • Proven experience in backend development using C# or Java within a microservices environment
  • Deep understanding of distributed systems, including experience with messaging brokers like Kafka or Azure Service Bus
  • Strong SQL proficiency, specifically in schema design, query optimization, and transaction management
  • Experience designing and maintaining REST APIs at scale
  • A background in cloud-based environments (Azure/AWS) and containerization (Docker/K8s)

Nice to have

  • Direct experience with Entity Framework or similar ORM frameworks
  • Hands-on experience with Snowflake or other analytical data platforms
  • Familiarity with React or modern frontend concepts to better bridge the API gap
