Senior Data Engineer

About The Position

Our company is evolving the data platform to support the next generation of analytics, automation, and AI-powered decision making and we’re looking for a Senior Data Engineer to help lead that evolution.

In this role, you’ll shape how data is transformed, modeled, and consumed across the company while driving modernization initiatives across analytics infrastructure, semantic design, and data quality.

You’ll have significant influence over core architectural decisions and help build scalable systems that support both analytics and emerging AI-driven use cases.

This role is ideal for someone with a strong builder mindset who enjoys creating scalable foundations, solving complex data challenges, and turning ambitious ideas into production systems with real business impact.

You’ll help define what modern, AI-enabled analytics looks like inside a rapidly evolving, data-driven company.

What You Will Do

- Bring a strong builder mindset: identify opportunities, create solutions from scratch, and drive initiatives independently from idea to production.

- Lead the next phase of company's analytics and transformation architecture.

- Build and establish a scalable dbt foundation, including modeling standards, testing strategies, and development best practices.

- Develop and maintain Matillion orchestrations and transformation workflows.

- Design scalable data models and semantic layers that support trusted analytics and AI-driven querying.

- Build infrastructure that enables conversational analytics and natural-language interaction with company data.

- Create modern embedded dashboards and analytics experiences with strong performance and usability.

- Own data quality through validations, monitoring, testing, and platform guardrails.

What You Will Bring

- 5+ years of experience building production-grade data systems that directly supported business decision-making.

- Strong hands-on experience with dbt and modern ELT practices in production environments.

- Expert-level SQL and dimensional modeling skills with a focus on scalability and performance.

- Experience building or evolving analytics engineering foundations, standards, and transformation frameworks.

- Strong understanding of semantic layers, metric governance, and trusted data models.

- Proven experience designing and maintaining data quality and monitoring frameworks.

- Production experience with cloud data warehouses such as Redshift, Snowflake, or BigQuery.

- Hands-on experience using AI development tools such as Cursor, Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, or similar tools in daily engineering workflows.

- Strong system design capabilities, ownership mindset, and ability to balance fast execution with long-term thinking.
