Currently, we are looking for an experienced 2D/Concept Artist to join us on a full-time basis at our Warsaw office (2 days onsite, 3 days remote).
Our Customer is an early-stage mobile gaming studio founded in 2024, specializing in 2D free-to-play mid-core games. The team consists of experienced professionals, many of whom come from Plarium.
Responsibilities:
- Create concept art and final 2D assets for monsters, evolution lines, titans, pets, bosses, characters, and environments.
- Design stylized creatures with strong silhouettes, clear readability, and powerful visual progression across evolutions.
- Produce high-quality game art: unit portraits, icons, items, gear sets, skill visuals, and illustrations.
- Create and maintain UI/UX assets — icons, frames, evolution screens, talent trees, and interface elements.
- Develop environment concepts, backgrounds, and location art.
- Conceptualize, present, and execute ideas quickly while staying true to the game's primal fantasy identity.
- Take full ownership of the visual direction as the sole 2D artist on the project — set the visual benchmark that outsourcers and future hires will follow.
- Contribute to building and maintaining the Art Bible and overall visual style.
- Work closely with the Art Director, Game Designer and Animator to ensure consistent art direction and high visual quality.
- Communicate proactively, share work at early stages and iterate fast based on feedback.
Requirements:
- Strong design, drawing, color theory, composition, and conceptual ideation skills, strong Strong skills in design, drawing, color theory, composition, and conceptual ideation.
- Excellent sketching fundamentals — anatomy, perspective, shape language, and silhouette.
- Solid experience creating stylized 2D game art, mobile experience is a strong plus.
- 5+ years of professional experience as a Concept Artist or 2D Artist in the game industry.
- Great illustration skills with a strong focus on characters and creatures
- Experience creating UI/UX assets for games.
- Ability to work independently and take ownership
- Ability to meet tight deadlines in a small, fast-paced team environment.
- Understanding of mobile game specifics — readability on small screens, performance considerations.
- Upper-Intermediate level of English
Would be a plus:
- Experience with monster and creature design or evolution systems.
- Previous work in Idle RPG, RPG, or gacha games.
- Interest in primal or dark fantasy aesthetics.
- Experience briefing and reviewing outsourced art to maintain style consistency.
- Experience working in early-stage or mid-core mobile projects.
