Senior Back-End Engineer

Together with our partner, a prominent online fashion & beauty retailer in Europe, we are looking for a Back End Engineer specializing in Search Enginer technologies. 

You will have the opportunity to play an important role in enhancing our clietn’s e-commerce platform. Your expertise will be crucial in developing scalable, efficient seacrh functionalities that improve product discoverability and customer satifsfaction. You will collaborate with cross-fucntional teams to tackle complex challenges, optimize seacrh algorythms, and contribute to the a seamless shopping experience for millions of users.

Responsibilities

• Address catalog intake scalability and performance impediments 
• Developing new unified catalog intake for products and other entity types 
• Optimizing catalog intake for performance and scalability 
• Redesign Elasticsearch index structure 
• Developing new index structure optimized for further country/language scaling 
• Automated re-indexing in cases of index schema changes 
• Managing fields to be indexed. 
• Blue / green deployments of different data sources. 
• Index streamlining and consolidation

Skills Required

• Experience with Search domain (data indexing and retrieval, index structures, localization)
• Knowledge of Elasticsearch (or similar technologies, like OpenSearch)
• Real-time streaming data pipelines (Kafka, Flink, etc.)
• Experience with Scala, Java or Kotlin (and readiness to work with Scala)
  
• English: Upper-Intermediate. You should feel confident communicating with english-speaking teams
