The Technical Product Owner (TPO) is primarily responsible for producing technical product requirements and championing them through the Agile Software Development Lifecycle. This process includes regular agile cadences with the engineering organization to ensure that the requirements are well understood and that any architectural considerations are likewise accommodated. The TPO will work closely with subject matter experts (SMEs) and will occasionally research topics as needed to address evolving software platform requirements.

They will participate in white boarding sessions alongside software architects and represent both the business and the voice-of-customer.

Ultimately, the TPO plays an exciting and critical role between product management and engineering, ensuring that the product vision is maintained while incorporating best software practices and quality in the solutions being built.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, or related technical field
  • 5+ years of professional experience working within a software development and requirements pipeline
  • Strong understanding of user requirements and the ability to translate them into technical specifications
  • Familiarity with RESTful API enterprise-level applications
  • Familiarity with system integration and 3rd party application connectivity · Familiarity with NoSQL database frameworks ·
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP) and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Familiarity with defining non-functional requirements (performance, scalability, security, serviceability, etc.)
  • Basic understanding of software as-a-service (SaaS) hosted applications and technical enterprise considerations
  • Passionate individual with a self-starter personality and willingness to learn new modern technologies
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Responsibilities:

  • Supports the development lifecycle by organizing and communicating product requirements with responsibilities including but not limited to:
  1. Author and reviewer of business requirements documents (BRDs)
  2. Participant in Agile ceremonies (scrum, sprint planning, grooming, etc.)
  3. Responsible for user acceptance testing (UAT) and requirements signof
  • Maintains strong relationships with the product managers to stay up to date on the product vision and needs of the business. Works within the product group to communicate feedback from engineering on how best to approach/proceed
  • Consults with marketing and presales for their creation of customer facing artifacts, presentations, technical documentation, and software demos.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
