About the role:
You will work with operation and development of an enterprise backup platform and will, together with the rest of the team, handle the operation of our backup platform handling more than 70million backup jobs a year for our customers.
With us, you will play a decisive role in ensuring stable operation and ongoing development ofB4Restore's backup platform. You are therefore helping to make a direct difference to our operational reliability and our customers' satisfaction.
Responsibilities:
• Platform Maintenance and Development- Maintain, monitor, and optimize the backup platform based on Linux and enterprise backup applications to ensure high availability and reliability.
• Incident Handling- Respond to and resolve incidents from our monitoring systems related to Linux other backup application promptly.
• Patching
- Manage and apply regular patches to the Linux operating system, the backup application and related software.
- Ensure all components are up to date and secure against vulnerabilities.
• Documentation — Document all actions, changes, and configurations in a Service Management system.- Maintain clear and concise operational guides, procedures, and incident reports.
• Collaboration- Work closely with the Danish team lead and other team members to align tasks and priorities.- Provide insights and feedback for improving the platform and its processes.
Requirements:
•Technical Skills
- Need to have:
▪ Strong knowledge of Linux operating systems (+3 years)
▪ Familiarity with monitoring tools.
▪ Understanding of network protocols, storage systems, and virtualization.
- Nice to have
▪ Experience with backup solutions and their configurations
▪ Proficiency in scripting languages for automation and task optimization.
▪ Knowledge or experience with backup applications
• Experience:
- Need to have
▪ Proven experience (+3 years) in system administration roles focused on Linux environments.
▪ Previous experience with incident management, patching, general operational tasks and system monitoring.
- Nice to have
▪ Relevant experience with operation system and application support from similar setup.
• Service Management
- Need to have
▪ Familiarity with ITIL processes and working within a structured Service Management system (e.g., ServiceNow).
▪ Strong attention to detail when documenting changes, incidents, and actions.
• Soft Skills:
- Need to have
▪ Ability to work independently in a remote setup while maintaining clear communication.
▪ Strong problem-solving skills and proactive approach to challenges.
▪ Effective collaboration with a geographically distributed team.
▪ Excellent written and verbal communication in English (minimum upper-intermediate level).
• Language and Culture:
- Need to have
▪ Proficient in English (spoken and written)
- Nice to have
▪ Knowledge of Danish is a plus but not mandatory.
▪ Understanding of Scandinavian work culture is advantageous.
