System Administrator (with Graphana)

About the role:
You will work with operation and development of the enterprise infrastructure, that supports the services we deliver to our customers and will, together with the rest of the team, handle the operation the infrastructure that amongst other areas also supports our backup platform handling more than 70 million backup jobs a year for our customers.
You will, in time, be responsible for managing and maintaining our monitoring platform together with daily operations of the infrastructure.
With us, you will play a decisive role in ensuring stable operation and ongoing development of B4Restore's infrastructure and datacenters. You are therefore helping to make a direct difference to our operational reliability and our customers' satisfaction.

Responsibilities- Infrastructure Maintenance and Development:

• Maintain, monitor, and optimize the infrastructure based on Grafana and associated tools. The infrastructure is mainly based on Linux, Mellanox and enterprise IBM storage systems.

- Monitoring and alerting:

• Build and maintain a monitoring platform that ensures we always are in full control of the infrastructure and that gives us the possibility of being proactive to ensure high availability and reliability.

- Incident Handling:

• Respond to and resolve incidents from our monitoring systems promptly.

- Patching:

• Manage and apply regular patches to systems and related software.
• Ensure all components are up to date and secure against vulnerabilities.

- Documentation:

• Document all actions, changes, and configurations in a Service Management system.
• Maintain clear and concise operational guides, procedures, and incident reports.

- Collaboration:

• Work closely with the Danish team lead and other team members to align tasks and priorities.
• Provide insights and feedback for improving the platform and its processes.

RequirementsTechnical Skills:

• Strong knowledge of Grafana and/or similar systems (+3 years)
• Familiarity with monitoring tools.
• Strong knowledge of network, storage systems, and virtualization.
• Strong knowledge of operating systems, preferably RHEL

Nice to have:

• Proficiency in scripting languages for automation and task optimization.

Experience

• Proven experience (+3 years) in system administration roles focused on monitoring and maintaining enterprise infrastructure.
• Experience with incident management, patching, general operational tasks and system monitoring.

Nice to have:

• Experience with datacenters and monitoring of cooling, electricity etc.

Service Management

• Familiarity with ITIL processes and working within a structured Service Management system (e.g., ServiceNow).
• Strong attention to detail when documenting changes, incidents, and actions.

Soft Skills

• Ability to work independently in a remote setup while maintaining clear communication.
• Strong problem-solving skills and proactive approach to challenges.
• Effective collaboration with a geographically distributed team.
• Excellent written and verbal communication in English (minimum upper-intermediate level).

Language and Culture

• Proficient in English (spoken and written)

Nice to have:

• Knowledge of Danish is a plus but not mandatory.
• Understanding of Scandinavian work culture is advantageous.
