Requirements
5+ years of PostgreSQL administration experience in enterprise environments with large data volumes.
Strong skills in query optimization, indexing strategies, performance tuning, and execution plan analysis.
Proficiency in DDL/DML operations, schema design, and replication (logical and streaming).
Experience with AWS RDS, Aurora, and cloud-native database services.
Familiarity with Citus, TimeScaleDB, and scaling PostgreSQL in distributed architectures.
Understanding of system-level tuning on Linux (RHEL/CentOS/Rocky) and integration with Docker/Kubernetes environments.
Experience with monitoring and alerting tools (Prometheus, Grafana, Elastic/OpenSearch).
Solid knowledge of backup, recovery, disaster recovery planning, and high-availability solutions.Scripting skills (Bash, Python) for automation and operational workflows.
Strong communication and documentation skills.
Willingness for on-call rotations and handling critical incidents.
Responsibilities
Architect, deploy, and manage PostgreSQL databases in AWS environments.
Ensure performance, security, and availability of database systems.
Develop and enforce database standards, policies, and procedures.
Proactively monitor and tune system performance, conduct root cause analysis for issues.
Implement backup, replication, and disaster recovery strategies.
Collaborate with developers for query optimization and schema improvements.
Document processes, configurations, and maintain operational runbooks.
