About the role:

You will work with operation and development of the enterprise network infrastructure, that supports the services we deliver to our customers and will, together with the rest of the team, handle the operation the infrastructure that amongst other areas also supports our backup platform handling more than 70 million backup jobs a year for our customers.

The goal will be for you to independently operate, develop and advise on enterprise network solutions as a trusted specialist in relation to technical and strategic issues regarding networks, including helping our customers with, at times, complex issues related to the infrastructure.

With us, you will play a decisive role in ensuring stable operation and ongoing development of B4Restore's network, infrastructure and datacentres. You are therefore helping to make a direct difference to our operational reliability and our customers' satisfaction.

Responsibilities:

Network Maintenance and Development

  • Installation, configuration, operate, monitor, and optimize the network infrastructure.
  • Infrastructure is mainly based on Linux (RedHat), KVM, nVidia/Mellanox and enterprise IBM storage systems.

Monitoring and alerting

  • Maintain and optimize monitoring platform to ensure complete control and overview of the network infrastructure and secure high availability and reliability.
  • Incident Handling
  • Respond to and resolve incidents from our monitoring systems promptly.

Patching

  • Manage and apply regular patches/updates to systems and related software.
  • Ensure all components are up to date and secure against vulnerabilities.
  • Documentation
  • Document all actions, changes, and configurations in a Service Management system.
  • Maintain clear and concise operational guides, procedures, and incident reports.

Collaboration

  • Work closely with the Danish team lead and other team members to align tasks and priorities.
  • Provide insights and feedback for improving the platform and its processes.

Requirements:

Technical Skills

Need to have

  • Strong documented knowledge of network operations.
  • Strong knowledge of enterprise network architecture and design
  • Strong knowledge of operating systems, preferably Linux (RedHat)
  • Strong knowledge of Netbox/PRTG and/or similar monitoring systems (+3 years)

Nice to have

  • Proficiency in scripting languages for automation and task optimization.

Experience

Need to have

  • Proven experience (+3-5 years) in network administration roles focused on maintaining enterprise network infrastructure
  • Experience with incident management, patching, general operational tasks and system monitoring.

Nice to have

  • Experience with enterprise datacenter operations and procedures.

Service Management

Need to have

  • Familiarity with ITIL processes and working within a structured Service Management system (e.g., ServiceNow).
  • Strong attention to detail when documenting changes, incidents, and actions.

Soft Skills

  • Need to have
  • Ability to work independently in a remote setup while maintaining clear communication.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and proactive approach to challenges.
  • Effective collaboration with a geographically distributed team.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication in English (minimum upper-intermediate level).

Language and Culture

Need to have

  • Proficient in English (spoken and written)

Nice to have

  • Understanding of Scandinavian work culture is advantageous.
