Senior Back-end (Python, ML) Engineer

Required skills

— Ability to read and write code in one or more languages ideally Go, Python, Ruby, and/or Scala code

— Understanding of algorithms and data structures (general engineering)

— An interest or understanding of Machine Learning

— Experience with Terraform

— Experience building declarative Jenkins pipelines

— Knowledge of Bash and Python to write scripts

— Ability to participate in technical design discussions within your team, and across partner teams

— An appetite to learn and grow professionally

— Level of English: Upper-Intermediate+ (we’re a remote team)

Nice to have

— Strong understanding of how ML models are trained

— Experience with AWS Sagemaker

— Knowledge of Python/Scala for tuning occasional Apache Spark tasks

— Understanding of AWS platform services— Understanding of Data Engineering concepts

Responsibilities

— Operating on the intersection of ML Engineering, Infrastructure Engineering, Software Engineering

— Building model deployment and monitoring pipelines, building client libraries to be used by internal customers

— Providing guidance to ML engineers on the best way to deploy and operate their models

— Communicating directly with users to understand there requirements and unique challenges as well as providing remote support in use of the platform
