Senior WP developer (advanced stack)

We are looking for a talented and experienced Senior WordPress Developer (PHP & JavaScript) to join our team. As a Senior Developer, you will play a key role in contributing to the enhancement and maintenance of our complex projects.

In our collaboration model, you will work and communicate directly with the development team on the client side.

What you'll do in this role  

• Assume project-level ownership, ensuring seamless integration and impact of your work on the overall project.
• Support fellow developers and contribute to project architecture and complex subsystems design.
• Evaluate various software architectural approaches under constrained conditions.
• Undertake debugging and bug fixes, ensuring optimal project outcomes.
• Contribute to the enhancement of tools, code, and team communication.
• Stay updated on industry best practices and proactively tackle technical challenges.
• Drive improvements in performance and security.
• Offer comprehensive architectural insights and feedback on systems, based on a solid understanding of computer science fundamentals and other programming paradigms or frameworks.
• Document technical architecture and decision-making processes.

We're looking for

• Profound knowledge of web development, especially with PHP and JavaScript within a WordPress framework.
• Deep understanding of WordPress internals, its components, and the broader ecosystem.
• Experience in project architecture for complex WordPress initiatives.
• Proficiency in debugging, using relevant tools, and expertise in HTML5, CSS, Git, MySQL, RESTful APIs, and local development environments.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills in English, with the ability to navigate technical terminology effectively.
• Strong project management skills, with attention to performance and security considerations.
• A track record of significant contributions to large enterprise WordPress development projects.
• Familiarity with infrastructure including S3 uploads and Cavalcade
• Familiarity with linting and static analysis tools to test the process of updating a complex legacy codebase to work with newer versions of PHP and WordPress.
• Familiarity with AWS architecture and the PHP SDKs for interacting with AWS S3.
• Comfortable with test-driven development.
• Experience working on large-scale migrations.
• Comfortable writing and configuring build and CI pipelines.
