Middle QA Engineer

JOB SUMMARY:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Middle Manual QA Tester to join our quality assurance team. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of software testing processes, experience in manual testing, and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to ensure high-quality product releases.

REQUIREMENTS:

Experience:

• 2-4 years of experience in manual software testing.
• Proven experience in creating and executing test cases, logging defects, and working with defect tracking tools (e.g., JIRA, Bugzilla).
• Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies and working in cross-functional teams.

Skills:

• Strong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and QA methodologies.
• Familiarity with various types of testing (functional, regression, integration, UAT).
• Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and manage time effectively.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
• Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.

Technical Knowledge:

• Basic knowledge of SQL for database verification.
• Understanding of web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and APIs is a plus.
• Familiarity with test management tools (e.g., TestRail, Zephyr) is advantageous.

Soft Skills:

• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to clearly articulate issues and solutions.
• Team player with a proactive attitude and a willingness to take initiative.

Education:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

RESPONSIBILITIES: 

Test Planning and Design:

• Review and analyze system specifications, user stories, and requirements.
• Create comprehensive and well-structured test plans, test cases, and test scripts based on the requirements.
• Collaborate with developers, product owners, and other stakeholders to clarify requirements and ensure complete test coverage.

Test Execution:

• Perform functional, regression, integration, and user acceptance testing (UAT) on various platforms (web, mobile, desktop).
• Identify, record, document, and track defects, and work closely with developers to resolve issues.
• Execute manual test cases and provide detailed reports on testing outcomes, including defect rates and quality metrics.

Defect Management:

• Log detailed bug reports with clear steps to reproduce, expected results, and severity ratings.
• Track defects through their lifecycle, ensuring proper prioritization and resolution.
• Re-test resolved defects and ensure that they have been effectively fixed.

Collaboration and Communication:

• Work closely with the development team to understand product changes, and provide feedback on potential impact areas.
• Participate in daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives as part of an Agile team.
• Communicate testing progress, issues, and risks to the QA Lead and project stakeholders.

Documentation:

• Maintain and update test documentation, including test cases, bug reports, and testing procedures.
• Contribute to user manuals and release notes by providing clear and accurate product information.
