Business Analyst / Product Owner

OTAKOYI is looking for highly skilled and detail-oriented Business Analyst / Product Owner to lead our Partner's app development initiatives. This role is pivotal in ensuring that all project specifications are meticulously crafted, logical, and fully address all potential functionalities and behaviors before any development begins.

Project Overview:

Our Partner is a dynamic tech company focused on developing a single mobile application that enhances localized user connectivity and engagement. Their mission is to leverage technology to bring people together, make friends, offering solutions that are intuitive, efficient, and scalable.

What you'll do:

1. Specification Excellence: Craft detailed, clear, and logical specifications for app functionalities and features. Ensure these specifications consider all possible scenarios to prevent any gaps in-app functionality. This is the most crucial aspect of the role, requiring a strong ability to anticipate potential issues and user needs.

2. Project Management: Manage the day-to-day operations, ensuring timely delivery of all development works. Coordinate with co-founders, QA teams, developers, and designers to keep all projects on track against timelines and budgets.

3. Team Coordination: Serve as the main point of contact among stakeholders, including co-founders, the QA team, developers, dev ops and designers. Ensure seamless communication and address any impediments swiftly.

4. Agile Leadership: Organize and oversee sprints and backlog management using Jira, ensuring a steady workflow and readiness for development phases.

5. Daily and Weekly Syncs: Lead daily standups and weekly status meetings with team members and co-founders to ensure alignment and address any concerns.

6. Quality Assurance Collaboration: Work closely with QA to develop test cases and ensure that all products meet the highest quality standards before market release.

7. Risk Management: Identify and mitigate potential risks throughout the project lifecycle.

Skills you have:

1. Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.

2. Proven track record as a Business Analyst or Project Manager in software development preferably mobile app environments, with a focus on writing exceptional specifications.

3. Extensive experience with Agile and Scrum methodologies; Scrum Master certification preferred.

4. Proficiency in using Jira or similar project management tools.

5. Outstanding analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving abilities.

6. Excellent communication skills, capable of effectively managing and building relationships with multiple stakeholders.

7. Fluent in English, with exemplary writing and verbal communication skills.

Recruitment process:

- Pre-Screening Interview with Recruiter (up to 30 minutes).

- Tech interview with Head of PM Department (around 1 hour).

- Client HR/Team interview (around 1 hour).
