Senior Data Engineer

About the project: 

The client is an American community bank that is building an online banking platform based on Mulesoft and a back office on Salesforce. Our team will focus on developing integrations between various SaaS solutions from the client. 

The team started a couple of months ago, now they are at the initial stage: investigating the system, setting up the processes, and making all important decisions regarding Mulesoft, Data, DevOps, and Salesforce parts of the system. 

The team consists of 20 people now: Mulsoft, Salesforce, DevOps, QA (manual and automation), Data, Business Analysts teams, Solution Architects, Scrum Master, PM, and Security analyst.

There is a part of the team on the client’s side: Mulesoft, DevOps, Data leads, product managers, and product owners.

The team is in the European time zone, the client is in the EST time zone. 

As for the methodology, we have Scrum on the project: 2-week sprints, daily meetings, retro, and planning ceremonies. 

Technology stack on the project and tools: AWS, Azure DevOps, BitBucket, Jira, Confluence, Teams.

Senior Data Engineer in this position will focus on configuring Apache Nifi tool, solutions designs, creating unique identification numbers for users (in cooperation with vendors of our client) and working on DB versioning.

Requirements:

• At least 5 years of experience as a Data Engineer;
• Soild SQL knowledge and good practice of database modeling;
• Deep programming knowledge (Python);
• Good understanding of data warehouse processes, REST/SOAP APIs, JSON, and XML;
• Experience with AWS (e.g. Schema Registry);
• Experience with DB versioning (e.g. Flyway);
• Experience with ETL processes and real-time processing  (Apache Nifi);
• English on at least upper intermediate level.

Will be a plus:

• Experience with banking products preferred;
• Experience with Jira and Agile methodology;
• Experience with common business systems — ERP, CRM, etc.;
• Java knowledge (for creating custom processors in Apache Nifi),

Responsibilities:

• Investigate and resolve issues related to data;
• Analyze business requirements and the impact to API design and development;
• Clarify data mapping requirements;
• Perform data analysis and mapping of fields/data between systems;
• Design the architecture of databases;
• Develop dataflows;
• Cooperate with the Devops team in terms of tool configuration.
