N-iX Games is looking for a highly talented and experienced Technical\VFX Artist to play a key role in our new ambitious PC/console strategy game. The specialist we looking for will guide the content production pipelines and help maintain performance as well as be responsible for some of the visual features.
Responsibilities:
- Creating high-quality water and weather effects, assisting other team members in the creation of related systems;
- Creating and optimizing shaders, materials, decals, and foliage;
- Creating and improving Niagara-based visual effects;
- Working with lightning optimization;
- Identify pipeline, workflow & build problems, solve them, or work with teams to mitigate the impact on the final product;
- Advising art on how to further optimize assets and other content to fit within the technical limitations;
- Collaborating with Art, Engineering, and Design teams to create a high-quality game experience;
- Help define new art workflows and identify industry trends/best practices;
- Be the point of contact between team members to drive cross-department collaboration
Requirements:
- At least 3 years of experience as a Technical Artist or related art role;
- A strong portfolio of work that demonstrates the ability to create high-quality works suitable for games.
- Solid knowledge of Unreal Engine is essential including knowledge of blueprints, Niagara, and performance profiling tools;
- Working experience with water and weather effects in Unreal Engine.
- In-depth knowledge of modern lighting models, and how they affect shader/material creation;
- Good knowledge of node-based shader editors and/or HLSL experience.
Good to have:
- Experience with city-building, RTS, or tactical games as a developer;
- Good understanding of 3D maths
- Good knowledge of Houdini & procedural content creation
- Problem-solving mindset;
- Being able to work independently and as part of a team;
- Be an avid gamer
- English — upper-intermediate
