We are pleased to announce a new opportunity for a skilled and proactive Engineering Manager to join our team at BCD TripTech. If you are passionate about leading multiple teams, driving technical direction, and fostering a culture of high performance, we invite you to consider this role.

What you will be doing:

Building and maintaining strong relationships with Team Leads to coach and mentor them.
Fostering a culture of high performance across all teams and proactively identifying opportunities to improve departmental effectiveness.
Maintaining a deep understanding of your teams’ systems and how they fit into the broader product and architectural ecosystem.
Driving professional growth initiatives across your department.
Partnering with Product Managers to ensure teams are building the right things and focusing on top priorities.
Understanding short- and long-term product strategies and adjusting plans accordingly.
Overseeing planning, estimation, and timely delivery of key technical initiatives.
Collaborating with Upper Leadership and other Engineering Managers to align efforts and escalate issues when needed.
Acting as a communication bridge between teams, stakeholders, and leadership.

You certainly:

Have 5+ years of proven experience as an Engineering Manager or in a similar leadership role in a technical environment, on top of the previous engineering background.
Possess a strong background in software engineering with the ability to understand system architecture.
Demonstrate the ability to manage multiple teams or projects simultaneously.
Are hands-on with logging, monitoring, QA, and deployment processes.
Have deep experience in mentoring, team-building, and performance management.
Communicate fluently in English (Upper-Intermediate/Advanced level).
Can be located anywhere in Europe or the US East Coast timezone.

You probably:

Have prior experience in the business travel domain.
Have led cross-functional distributed teams across multiple regions.
Are comfortable balancing strategic goals with operational excellence.

We raised ~$10M in venture capital from Silicon Valley and, in 2016, joined BCD Travel (www.bcdtravel.com), a global corporate travel management company with annual sales of $25 billion, to bring our unique hotel booking technology into BCD’s products.

What we do:

We develop a B2B booking platform for business trips, which helps users book hotels, flights, and cars. It provides both business travellers and their travel agents with detailed itineraries and the best booking options. Every day, thousands of business travellers across the world use our software built on modern technology.

We use:

Frontend: ES6, React/Redux.
Backend: Python 3 and Clojure, plus Django, DRF, Celery, Gevent, aiohttp, Airflow.
Databases & infrastructure: PostgreSQL, Redis, Memcached, RabbitMQ, Elasticsearch, Terraform, Ansible, StackStorm, Splunk, Docker.
Everything runs on AWS.
