Middle Automation QA Engineer

Assignment description

Our client is looking for a motivated Automation QA Engineer to join their growing team. This role will be integral in ensuring the quality and reliability of the e-commerce websites. As a key member of a newly formed e-commerce team, you will have the opportunity to shape their testing strategy from the ground up, focusing on both automated web tests and API testing. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who thrives on collaboration and enjoys working closely with the engineering team to build a robust and scalable testing framework.

About the team

The team consists of a Product Manager, two Full-Stack Developers, and a UX Designer. You will also collaborate with two senior back-end developers and two full-stack developers from the e-commerce team.

Must haves

- At least 5 years of professional experience in software quality assurance, including 2-3 years in test automation.

- Proven experience in automated testing of web applications.

- Strong knowledge of test automation frameworks (e.g., Selenium, Cypress, Playwright).

- Proficiency in at least one scripting language (e.g., JavaScript, Python, C#).

- Experience with API testing tools (e.g., Postman, Rest Assured)

- Knowledge of mobile application testing is a plus.

- Experience working in larger, more complex organizations is a plus.

- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

- Ability to work independently and take ownership of projects.

- Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Other requirements

This is a distributed, remote-first position. The client believes in the power of in-person collaboration and requires team members to be available for travel at least four times per year for team meetings.
