Axon is a technology-focused software engineering company specializing in building scalable, high-quality solutions for modern businesses. We combine a strong engineering culture with a deep understanding of business needs to deliver reliable, secure, and future-ready digital products.
As a fully remote company with a global presence, we pride ourselves on transparency, ownership, and a service-oriented mindset. Our mission is to empower businesses through thoughtful software engineering and predictable delivery.
We are looking for an experienced Technical Project Manager to join our PMO team for a complex, highly technical software development project. You will be the bridge between our clients’ business goals and our engineering team’s deep technical execution.
At Axon, a PM is not just a coordinator; you are an owner of project health, scope alignment, and team dynamics. For this specific role, we need someone who can go beyond “checking boxes” and truly understand the technical architecture and challenges of the project.
- Ensure Predictable Delivery: Lead the delivery of complex software results, meeting 90%+ of milestones within agreed timelines and scope.
- Master Scope & Resource Management: Manage project schedule, scope, and resources. Prevent unmanaged scope creep while ensuring the team has what they need to succeed.
- Drive Technical Clarity: Partner with BAs and Engineers to ensure technical requirements are clear, prioritized, and actionable.
- Strategic Risk Management: Actively identify and mitigate technical, delivery, and stakeholder risks. We don’t just “report” risks; we expect you to map complex technical dependencies, anticipate architectural bottlenecks, and manage “hidden” risks like technical debt and integration failures before they impact the timeline.
- Mainain Operational Excellence: Keep 100% accuracy in project management and documentation tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence) and manage key project artifacts.
- Experience: 3+ years of project management experience specifically in complex software development projects.
- Technical Depth: Sufficient technical understanding to challenge estimates, identify architectural risks, and speak the “language” of senior engineers.
- Methodology: Strong practical experience applying Agile (Scrum/Kanban) and Predictive methodologies in a fast-paced environment.
- Language: Upper-Intermediate to Advanced English for effective communication with US/EU-based clients.
- Communication & Leadership: Excellent organizational skills and the ability to lead, motivate, and mentor a remote, international team.
- Technical Risk Acumen: Ability to translate technical challenges (e.g., refactoring needs, API limitations, infrastructure bottlenecks) into project risks and actionable mitigation plans.
- Analytical Thinking: Sharp analytical skills with high attention to detail, especially when dealing with technical documentation, dependency chains, and change management.
- Competitive compensation with regular performance review;
- 20 compensated vacation days during the calendar year;
- Days off during all national holidays;
- 7 days of compensated sick leave during the year (no special medical documents are required);
- After a probationary period (3 months), additional budget for health, education, or entertainment expenses (at your choice);
- Comfortable work schedule (9/10/11AM — 6/7/8 PM your local time);
- Work fully remotely or hybrid (on your choice).
- Internal mentoring and education system;
- Free internal tech-talks, meetups, and webinars, Udemy\Coursera knowledge base, Axon podcast;
- Possibility to migrate between the projects and work with different stacks;
- Development in related technologies;
- Growth to the leading positions inside the company;
- English classes and external professional training are compensated.
- Challenging work in an international professional environment (our team is located in more than 5 countries);
- Well-defined development processes:
- work in an Agile environment using the Scrum methodology;
- work with experienced Project Managers and Business Analysts in each team;
- Team volunteering activities;
- Corporate events and Axon achievements awards.
