Back-end Team Lead (Java)

We build scalable digital products for global markets in the iGaming space, and we’re currently looking for a Back-end Team Lead who doesn’t just write code — but shapes the technological future.

Your mission will be to lead the development of high-load platforms, make key architectural decisions, and guide the team in building innovative solutions.

Your key responsibilities will include:

– Provide technical leadership on the project: design, implementation, and development of high-load microservices using Java.

– Make key architectural decisions and contribute to the technical vision and long-term platform development strategy.

– Implement best practices in development, CI/CD, monitoring, security, and testing.

– Work with infrastructure based on Kubernetes and AWS (EKS, RDS, S3, MSK, etc.).

– Optimize system performance — from efficient resource usage to minimizing latency.

– Support and mentor the backend team, conduct code reviews, and foster the professional growth of developers.

– Collaborate with other team leads, architects, product managers, and DevOps to achieve shared goals.

– Take part in shaping internal team processes — planning, task estimation, and quality control.

– Influence the choice of technologies, tools, and approaches within the team.

It’s a match if you have:

– 5+ years of commercial experience with Java.

– Proven leadership and technical mentoring skills.

-  Fluent Ukrainian.

– Upper Intermediate English.

– Solid knowledge of Java 17+ / Java 21.

– Deep expertise in Spring Boot (Web, Security, Data, Scheduler, WebFlux).

– Experience with microservice architecture / high-load systems.

– Hands-on experience with event-driven architecture.

– Practical experience with Apache Kafka (producers, consumers, distributed topics, retry/error handling).

– Experience with MongoDB / AWS DocumentDB, PostgreSQL, SingleStore.

– Experience designing and optimizing REST APIs.

– Solid knowledge of CI/CD, Docker, Kubernetes (EKS).

– Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools: Grafana, Prometheus, Micrometer, ELK.

– Ability to take responsibility for architectural and technical decisions.

– Strong communication and teamwork skills.

– Accountability for end results.

– Analytical mindset and proactivity.

– Commercial experience in developing products in the iGaming industry.
