Mechanical Design Engineer

EOS SAR is looking for Senior Mechanical Design Engineer in Warsaw.

EOS SAR creates small satellites with synthetic aperture radar, that emits and receives electromagnetic waves that can pass through clouds, vegetation and the upper layers of the earth’s soil.

  Responsibilities:

• Lead mechanical design of deployable boom structures for reflector antenna.

• Perform kinematic and structural design of deployment mechanisms (hinges, latches, locking systems).

• Dimensioning for launch loads, deployment dynamics, and in-orbit stability.

•Material and process selection (CFRP, titanium, aluminum alloys, lubricants for space).

• Support development from CAD concept to detailed design and drawings.

•Perform tolerance analysis, stress analysis, and ensure compliance with ECSS standards.

•Coordinate with system engineer and technologist to ensure integration feasibility.  

  Requirements:

•Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.

• 5–7+ years as a Mechanical Design Engineer in hardware projects.

•Experience in aerospace/space mechanism design is a strong plus.

•Expertise in deployable booms, solar arrays, or antenna mechanisms is a strong plus.

•Strong CAD/CAE proficiency (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Autodesk Inventor, ANSYS, NX or equivalent).

•Knowledge of thermal-vacuum behavior, friction, lubrication in vacuum.

• Experience with vibration, shock, and deployment dynamics analysis.

• Familiarity with ECSS standards and space mechanism qualification.

•Excellent problem-solving and leadership skills.

•Fluent in English (technical documentation, supplier communication).
