Senior Backend Engineer (AI Agent Generation Team)

We are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to strengthen our client’s AI team.

Our client is a funded seed-stage startup operating at the forefront of AI agent generation technology. The company builds next-generation systems that generate, test, and manage autonomous conversational agents through large-scale, realistic simulations.
Their open-source framework, IntellAgent, enables teams to uncover hidden edge cases, optimize performance, and improve the reliability of AI-driven models. The mission is to redefine how conversational AI is evaluated and deployed, creating systems that are more scalable, trustworthy, and efficient.
As part of the AI Agent Generation Team, you’ll work closely with engineers and researchers to design, build, and scale backend infrastructure powering autonomous agent creation. You’ll architect distributed services, optimize data pipelines, and help shape the core of a cutting-edge AI product.

Full-time remote work style.

Requirements:
5+ years of professional experience in backend development
Strong proficiency in TypeScript and Python
Solid experience with cloud services (AWS, GCP, or Azure)
Hands-on experience with data processing, APIs, and distributed systems
Comfortable working in a fast-paced startup environment
English level — Upper-Intermediate+

Nice to have:
Experience with AI, LLMs, or agent-based architectures
Familiarity with Kubernetes (K8s), Go, or Rust is a strong advantage
Exposure to vector databases, microservices, or event-driven systems
Familiarity with data orchestration tools and observability platforms

Responsibilities:
Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services for AI agent generation and management
Collaborate with researchers to integrate LLM-driven workflows and data pipelines
Optimize cloud infrastructure and ensure system reliability under large-scale simulations
Develop and maintain RESTful and event-driven APIs
Implement efficient data storage and retrieval mechanisms for AI model evaluation
Participate in architectural discussions and propose improvements to system performance
Write clean, testable, and maintainable code following modern engineering practices
Work cross-functionally with AI, platform, and product teams

Salary — up to $6000 gross
