About the Role
We’re looking for a Database Administrator to join our team and contribute to our cloud database operations on Azure.
You’ll work as part of an established DBA team, supporting production and pre-production environments. The role involves hands-on work with Azure SQL Managed Instance and related technologies, with guidance from a team lead and collaboration across engineering teams.

Our client operates a large healthcare ecosystem across the United States. The Insight Research Portal is an internal platform used by thousands of users to manage and monitor research activities, bringing complex processes into a single system.

Who are we looking for?
Responsibilities:
- Support and maintain database environments (production and pre-production) together with the team
- Participate in troubleshooting and resolving database and application issues
- Contribute to query optimization and performance improvements
- Assist with backup/restore processes and environment stability (including PITR)
- Work with ADF pipelines and data integration processes
- Collaborate with developers and other teams to ensure smooth system operation
- Contribute ideas and improvements as you gain familiarity with the system
Skills & Experience:
- Azure SQL Managed Instance: Good understanding of its architecture, management, and key differences from standard SQL Server
- SQL Server & T-SQL: Solid working knowledge of relational databases, query writing, and performance basics
- Azure Data Factory / SSIS: Experience with ETL processes and data integration workflows
- General Azure Knowledge: Familiarity with Azure application resources and best practices
- Troubleshooting: Ability to analyze and resolve database and application issues in a structured way
- Communication: Comfortable working with English-speaking teams
- Work Schedule: Willingness to participate in a rotating shift model
Nice to have:
- Experience with performance tuning tools (Query Store, Extended Events, indexing, etc.)
- Familiarity with Azure DevOps pipelines and release processes (at a working level)
- Basic scripting skills (PowerShell, JSON)
- Experience with Git or code management practices
