Big Data Engineer w/ Spark

We are looking for a Big Data Engineer with Spark who will be working on an external project in the credit risk domain. But what’s more important — you will still be an integral part of the Scalac team and work with the best specialists! 

📍 You need to be based in Poland! 

As a Big Data Engineer, you will:

• Work on an external project and develop an application that is based on the Hadoop platform.
• Work with an international team of specialists. 
• Design and implement database systems. 
• Implement business logic based on the established requirements.
• Ensure the high quality of the delivered software code. 
• Independently make decisions, even in high-risk situations. 

Must-haves in the technology stack: 

• At least 4 years of experience with Scala and Spark 
• Excellent understanding of Hadoop
• Jenkins, HQL (Hive Queries), Oozie, Shell scripting, GIT, Splunk

Important skills:

• Good programming and testing practices. 
• Excellent communication skills, so you can communicate well with the technical team and our clients.
• English at an advanced level, as our clients are from the US (Silicon Valley) and West Europe.
• A proactive approach, a can-do attitude, growth mindset, problem-solving skills, and being a real team player. 
• Independence in your tasks and decisions while keeping the rest of the team in mind.
