Back-End Engineer

What You’ll Do as a Backend Software Engineer:

• Build and design our platform infrastructure.
• Extract our platform capabilities into our SaaS product.
• Deliver a great user experience that is super-fast for end users.
• Design and review code, troubleshoot, and act as a mentor to team members on technical matters.
• Continuously discover, evaluate, and implement new technologies to maximize development efficiency.
• Test code for robustness, including edge cases, usability, and general reliability.
• Embrace and adopt AI-backed tools in your day-to-day job.

Experience and Skills Important for Success in This Role:

• 3+ years of experience with Ruby, Ruby on Rails, and a willingness to learn our tech stack.
• Experience with relational databases (design and query optimization).
• Experience with distributed systems and message brokers.
• Experience with SaaS development.
• Contribution to open source or written gems.
• Self-directed and independent, with proven experience owning complete features/products.
• Proficient in spoken and written English.
• Knowledge of Agile principles.
• B.Sc in Computer Science or equivalent – an advantage.
• Curiosity and passion for constantly learning new things.
• Bonus points for experience with GraphQL and Apollo Federation, RabbitMQ, Python, machine learning (including academic), and data collection and analysis.
