We are looking for Senior/VP Financial Controllers for our client, a global financial institution with a history spanning over two centuries. Operating in nearly 100 countries, it provides a wide range of banking and financial services, shaping the landscape of international finance.
- Financial Controlling & Reporting: Perform daily and monthly financial control tasks, including balance sheet reconciliation, month-end close processes, and financial reporting in accordance with US GAAP, IFRS, and Local GAAP.
- Product & Market Oversight: Ensure accurate accounting and financial control for global markets products (bonds, derivatives), working closely with trading desks and risk teams.
- Regulatory & Compliance Monitoring: Support regulatory reporting requirements, ensuring adherence to investment banking financial regulations and internal risk policies.
- ERP & General Ledger Management: Maintain and reconcile General Ledger (GL) accounts, manage ERP systems (SAP, Oracle), and contribute to financial data governance.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Work with senior management, auditors, and cross-functional teams to support financial strategy and reporting processes.
- Financial Analysis & Process Optimization: Analyze financial data, identify trends, and provide insights to improve efficiency in financial reporting and control functions.
- 6-8 years of experience in Finance (Banking or SSC) and/or Accounting, with preference for US GAAP knowledge.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Preferred qualifications: Chartered Accountant (CA), Certified Public Accountant (CPA), or Master’s in Business Administration (MBA).
- Investment banking experience is mandatory, ideally within a Tier 1 bank (e.g., JPMorgan, Citi, Deutsche Bank, UBS).
- Strong financial accounting background, particularly within Global Markets business.
- Hands-on experience as a Financial Controller or Product Controller, ideally with month-end close expertise.
- In-depth knowledge of financial instruments, including bonds and derivatives (candidates from manufacturing or non-financial sectors will not be considered).
- Strong understanding of General Ledger (GL), Chart of Accounts, and ERP systems (SAP, Oracle preferred).
- Experience with financial analysis, data governance, and regulatory reporting (US GAAP, IFRS, Local GAAP).
- Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with financial systems.
- Knowledge of financial regulations relevant to investment banking.
- Strong sense of ownership and ability to work with multiple stakeholders.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present financial data clearly to various audiences.
- English: Advanced level (both written and verbal).
- Experience with project management and contribution to program testing cycles is an advantage.
- Understanding of loan and deposit products is beneficial but not required (training will be provided).
