One of our client is ETH  University based in Zurich. We are looking for mature full-stack Java developers to develop their well-known open-source data platform used by researchers to manage, analyse, and do their scientific experiments.

The contract  will be signed for 5 years so it’s a long-running project.

They also would like to meet with future employees in person each quarter in Zurich for team-building and offline sessions.


Requirements:

  • A minimum of 5 years of professional experience in developing Java applications, with expert knowledge of current Java standards;
  • At least 4 years of professional experience in JavaScript, with strong proficiency in TypeScript and React;
  • Experience working with PostgreSQL or similar relational database systems, solid SQL skills;
  • 2 years of experience in Python developmentv
  • Experience in research data management software development or as an expert user, with a comprehensive understanding of research data management practices;
  • Familiarity with Agile development methodologies and the full software development lifecycle.

Will be a plus:

  • Experience with large-scale application development;
  • Familiarity and experience with the openBIS.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain the OpenBIS platform
  • Collaborate with research teams at ETH Zurich to understand their data management needs and translate these into functional software solutions;
  • Participate in code reviews, documentation, and continuous integration processes.
