Engineering Manager

We are looking for 2 experienced Data Engineers to join an international project focused on ETL modernization, workflow orchestration, and migration to modern data platforms.

The role involves redesigning and optimizing existing ETL processes, converting T-SQL logic into scalable Spark/Databricks solutions, and improving overall data pipeline performance within a modern cloud-driven environment.

Project Details

Start: August 2026
Duration: Until December 2026+ (extension possible)
Workload: Full-time
Location: Vienna / Bratislava (hybrid) or remote with willingness to travel on-site regularly 2 days per week at office
Language: Fluent English required; German is a strong plus

Responsibilities

Rewrite and migrate existing ETL/ELT pipelines
Convert complex T-SQL logic into Spark / Databricks jobs
Design and maintain workflow orchestration processes
Optimize data pipelines for scalability and performance (partitioning, caching, tuning, etc.)
Collaborate across analysis, development, testing, and implementation phases
Contribute to modern data engineering standards and best practices

Requirements

Strong analytical mindset with the ability to move from business analysis to technical solution design and testing
Strong hands-on experience with SQL and Python
Solid experience with Spark and Databricks
Experience building and maintaining ETL/ELT pipelines
Experience with tools such as SSIS, Azure Data Factory, or Databricks Workflows
Strong understanding of data transformation and performance optimization
Proactive, solution-oriented working style
Interest in modern technologies, standards, and forward-thinking approaches
