Once someone was building Duolingo from scratch. Someone was writing the first line of code, coming up with the first lesson, finding the first user. We are here now, launching a new business within the SKELAR venture builder.

Over 1.8 billion people in the world are learning foreign languages, but less than 10% are able to speak them fluently. We are starting to build an interactive communication environment — AI Language Tutor — to speak and make mistakes without fear of judgment.

Our goal is to build a product that will learn along with the user — gathering data about them, personalizing the approach, and motivating them to take new steps. We do not believe in universal approaches to learning, but we know that algorithms will help the user learn in his own way of learning. And (finally) effectively.

You will lead the development of our key asset — the AI Tutor mobile application. At the 0 to 1 stage, you will personally lay the foundation of the mobile architecture, write the first lines of the MVP code, and set up release processes. Since the core of our product is real-time voice communication with AI, your main technical task will be to ensure a seamless, fast, and stable user experience.

What you will need to do:
— MVP development from scratch: hands-on coding, choosing optimal libraries, and building a scalable mobile application architecture;
— Voice & AI integration: implementation of real-time audio recording, processing, and playback functionality (interaction with the backend and LLM to ensure minimum response latency);
— UI/UX implementation: close collaboration with designers and the Product Manager to create a convenient, intuitive interface and smooth animations;
— Release Management: setting up CI/CD processes, managing releases in the App Store and Google Play;
— Leadership: mentoring, conducting code reviews, and future hiring of engineers for your team.

What we expect from you (Qualifications):
— Experience: 4–5+ years in mobile development (Senior / Tech Lead level);
— Technical expertise: deep knowledge of the core React Native stack and understanding of the mobile application lifecycle;
— Leadership experience: successful experience in managing a development team, performing the role of Tech Lead or mentoring;
— Audio/network work: experience in optimizing application speed, working with complex API integrations;
— Startup Mindset: focus on business results; ability to find a compromise between ideal architecture and the speed of testing hypotheses in the market.

Will be a big plus:
— Experience working with speech recognition/synthesis technologies (Speech-to-Text, Text-to-Speech);
— Experience building applications with a subscription monetization model;
— Previous experience in early-stage startups or the EdTech niche.
